PhD PROGRAM

The PhD program at UNICAM is managed by the International School of Advanced Studies (ISAS). The call for applications is published each spring and is available at the link https://isas.unicam.it/. The call lists the research topics and scholarships available each year. Scholarships are funded by the UNICAM research groups, the University, the EU, the Italian Ministeries, the Marche Region, research Italian institutions (e.g., INGV, CNR, ENEA…), and private and state companies.
Master's degree graduates in the class LM74 (Geological Sciences and Technologies) can access two different doctoral programs, with a wide choice of research topics:

• PHYSICS, EARTH AND MATERIALS SCIENCES in two :

  - Physical and chemical processes in Earth systems
  - Material Sciences

• NATURAL HAZARDS AND DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

The PhD program lasts three years, full-time, beginning in December. In addition to research, which is periodically reviewed by the Teaching Committee, the program includes mandatory exams, participation in interdisciplinary activities, the acquisition of transversal skills, teaching support activities, and participation in Geosciences dissemination activities. A research period abroad is mandatory. The official language of the PhD program is English.
